Notes[]

  • The issue begins with Carol trying to arrest Spider-Man. This comes out of the events of CIVIL WAR, where Carol took part in the Superhero Registration Act, and Spidey did not. Therefore, ol' webs is seen as even more of a vigilante than usual.
  • And then there were the events of ONE MORE DAY and BRAND NEW DAY, where Spider-Man and Mary Jane gave up their marriage to Mephisto, who rewrote reality slightly, and suddenly everybody forgot about when Peter Parker revealed his identity on public TV during CIVIL WAR. There were a bunch of other changes, but since this is a Carol-centric wiki, we'll let the folks who run the Spider-Man Wiki go into those details.
  • Look, the mid-to-late-2000s were a very strange time for Marvel Comics, as editorial were constantly trying to "shake up" the status quo for their characters between events.
  • Even though this issue is listed as "Annual no. 1," there were never any further annuals published during this series, effectively making this a bonus one-shot for the 2006 series, like Giant Size Ms. Marvel, Ms. Marvel Special, and Ms. Marvel Storyteller.
